LES provide research and other practical support for local regeneration activity. The Directors and research team have a long track record of work relating to local regeneration and the development and management of local economic initiatives.
In relation to specific neighbourhoods or localities LES have particular expertise in supporting local action planning, identifying local area needs, mapping local economic and social activity and support needs, producing baseline profiles, developing local indicators to underpin overall programmes of action, or specific interventions and facilitating consensus in relation to practical action.
LES have also undertaken extensive research involving specific groups particularly at risk from social exclusion, including people with disabilities, the homeless, ex offenders, those with drug or alcohol abuse problems, vulnerable young people, older people, particular ethnic groups and lone parents.
To support the above activities, LES have particular expertise in the collection, access and analysis of diverse information at different geographical areas, including postcodes, wards, neighbourhoods, Census Output and Super Output Areas.
