Client:
Birmingham and Solihull Social Enterprise Consortium (BSSEC)
Date completed:

Project description:
LES successfully implemented a project that involved the development of a web based Purchasing Guide to Social Enterprise and Trading VCS organisations within Birmingham and Solihull. The research project, which was undertaken on behalf of BSSEC involved the following stages:
1. Compilation of VCS databases and initial analysis
2. Classification of VCS organisations
3. Refining the sample (data cleansing)
4. Questionnaire design and piloting
5. Implementation of survey
6. Data processing
7. Website development
The outcome of the project was an accessible website that could be searched by three pre-defined criteria (i.e. ward, service activity and client group) as part of the public facing element of the website. Searching on any or all of these criteria leads to organisational listing and then in turn to a standard report on the individual organisation concerned. An administration section of the website allows for relatively straightforward updating of the site.
