Research description:

The main aim of the study was to explore and determine the feasibility of achieving economic growth, including job creation, through the development of opportunities for franchise businesses to start up and grow within the East Birmingham and North Solihull Regeneration Zone.

 

The research was undertaken in five stages, these being to:

  • Identify key private sector market opportunities
  • Identify potential social franchise opportunities
  • Identify how existing and new start businesses can benefit from the growth and development of franchise businesses
  • Identify the skills profile for new entrants together with any other requirements
  • Review appropriate business support mechanisms
