Project description:

LES was responsible for a programme of research to underpin the Cabinet Office funded GoldStar programme over the period 2006 – 2008, specifically in terms of:
  • Working with the 46 GoldStar volunteering organisations in identifying volunteering good practice;
  • Documenting volunteering good practice on the GoldStar web site;
  • Identifying critical success factors  in relation to encouraging and sustaining volunteering amongst socially excluded groups; and
  • Producing a good practice handbook on promoting good practice in managing volunteers from socially excluded groups.
